Silo, Island of Krk

Šilo is a small place situated on the east side of the island of Krk, the largest island in the Adriatic. It is picturesque place in protected inlet called Stipanja, near Crikvenica and her Riviera. The distanced between Šilo and Crikvenica is only few sea miles of Vinodol canal, and distance from Šilo to land is about 20 kilometers over the Krk bridge.

The biggest tourist value of this place is numerous beautiful sunny and kept pebble beaches, as well-known sandy beach, with clean water ideal for children. Wreck of the ship "Peltastis" near Šilo has became one of the most interesting places for diving in Adriatic.

Šilo, as old fishing village, has tradition to organize celebration of this way of life. Also different sports and fun events take place in this small place. There are tennis courts, beach volley, and sea activities (sailing, diving, rowing) at disposal.
Specialties of local cuisine with authentic white wine "Žlahtina" are offered in restaurants.
Beautiful old place called Polje is placed above Šilo and it is interesting for tourist to see how authentic traditional line of village and way of life is kept besides modern building.
